The Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2026 concludes today with the decisive 13th and final round. With the outcome still open in both the Masters and the Challengers, and the possibility of tiebreak games later today, all eyes are on Wijk aan Zee.

Final Day Schedule

  • 11:30 – Playing hall opens (De Moriaan)
  • 12:00 – Start of Round 13 (Masters & Challengers)
  • TBA – Masters tiebreak games* (if required)
  • After the last game – Prize ceremony in the playing hall

* Tiebreak games will only be played if two or more players finish tied for first place in the Tata Steel Masters.

Masters: Championship Still Wide Open

In the Tata Steel Masters, today’s round will decide who lifts the famous trophy in Wijk aan Zee. 5 players remain in contention for first place, meaning every game will directly influence the final standings.

The Tata Steel Challengers also reach their conclusion today. With promotion to the Tata Steel Masters 2027 on the line, the final round will determine the winner of the Challengers group, where also multiple players still have chances to finish on top.
