The Tata Steel Chess Tournament is a top sports event in the municipality of Beverwijk. The tournament has a long history and has become one of the largest chess tournaments in the world with a huge international reach.
Sound
In the Moriaan in Wijk aan Zee, both hundreds of amateur chess players and 28 top athletes play chess at a high level. Chess requires top concentration. For that reason, this is the acceptance limit, set by the International Chess Federation FIDE.
According to Art. 1.7. of FIDE's Requirements for Top Level Events, there must be no external sources of noise. If noise disturbs play, the organizer must take all necessary measures to ensure appropriate conditions. For the purposes of this article, any level louder than 30 dB must be considered unacceptable and organizers must respond according to the above article.

Train: Take the train to Beverwijk Station, which is the closest station to Wijk aan Zee.
Bus: From Beverwijk Station, you can take the bus to Dorpsduinen, Wijk aan Zee, from where it's just a short walk away.
