In January 2023, the 85th edition of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament will be celebrated in Wijk aan Zee. The organisation is delighted to welcome all chess fans again in Wijk aan Zee!

During the coming edition, visitor registration is required prior to your visit to the rounds played in Dorpshuis de Moriaan and Chess on Tour in the Johan Cruijff ArenA on January 19th.

Registration is free of charge for all playing days.

Due to great interest and the experience of many chess fans arriving around the start of the round in the weekends, there will be a possibility you have to wait a moment before you can enter the playing hall. We thank you for your understanding.

House rules:

  • Large bags are not allowed in the playing venues, hence we recommend that you leave large bags at home or in your car. Small bags with a size of up to A4 and approximately 10 cm thick are allowed and may be taken inside.
  • To ensure fair play, the use of mobile phones is NOT allowed in the playing hall, not even for photos.
  • Photos can be taken with a digital camera. The use of a flash is NEVER allowed
  • Do not talk loudly nor make loud noises in the playing venue
