Livestream event Artificial Intelligence – The Game Changer

The fascinating world of Artificial Intelligence!

Tata Steel is at the forefront of the fourth industrial revolution. By placing advanced analytics at the heart of our innovation programmes, we manage to achieve exceptional results to improve our processes and the quality of our products. Thanks to our knowledge in this area, we can also innovate faster than ever before. The technologies based on Artificial Intelligence (AI) have a huge impact on the manufacturing industry.

Chess is one of the first areas where Artificial Intelligence has proved its track record. Kasparov lost to computer Deep Blue in 1997. With this, AI showed the world that it can compete with the human brain. Ten years later, Alpha Go defeated the best GO player in the world, Ke Jie. This showed that Alpha Go is even smarter than the human brain.

During the Tata Steel Chess Tournament these two worlds come together at our event called The Game Changer. The event will take place online on Friday 21 January 2022 from 15.30 – 17.00 CET. Spoken language is English.

What to expect:

Moderator Diana Matroos is an anchor at BNR Nieuwsradio and journalist and during this online event she will lead a panel discussion with the manufacturing and chess experts of Artificial Intelligence (AI).

How is AI currently being used at Tata Steel? Learn from case studies at the steel company. Max Welling of Microsoft will share the trends on AI in manufacturing. And who is actually doing the work when it comes to AI? Are they trained data scientists?

Or could they also be engineers with a good understanding of AI? How is AI used in chess in current games? Could Magnus Carlsen also have become world champion without the use of AI? And more importantly, how can the world of manufacturing adopt lessons learned in the world of chess?

The experts:

  • Menno van der Winden (Advanced Analytics Tata Steel)
  • Max Welling (Research chair in Machine Learning at the University of Amsterdam and Distinguished Scientist at Microsoft)
  • Natasha Regan (Co-author of the book Game Changer)
  • Peter Heine Nielsen (Chess Grand Master & coach Magnus Carlsen)

Please join our world of Artificial Intelligence, and get inspired by the impact of Artificial Intelligence on our industry and society!
