Registrations for the Tata Steel Chess amateur tournaments open on Friday 1 November 2024, 10:00 CET

Are you a chess player looking to test your skills against other players and compete next to your favorite Grandmaster? The Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2025 offers players of all ratings the chance to participate in the traditional amateur tournaments. Take the chance to compete during the annual event in Wijk aan Zee in one of multiple tournament formats.

Events

The amateur tournaments feature multiple events, so there is a tournament for every type of player during the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2025:

Weekend three-round event (17-19 January 2025)
Weekday three-round event (20-22 January 2025)
Nine-round event (24 Jan – 2 Feb 2025)

What amateur tournaments will be played during the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2025?
During the 2025 Tata Steel Chess Tournament, three amateur tournaments will be played simultaneous to the Masters and Challengers in several locations in Wijk aan Zee. You can sign up for the following three amateur tournaments.
- Weekend three-round event (17 – 19 January)
- Weekday three-round event (20 – 22 January)
- Nine-round event (24 January – 2 February)
