Chithambaram Aravindh

Aravindh Chithambaram is an Indian grandmaster known for his creative and competitive playing style. Born on 11 September 1999 in Thirunagar, Madurai, Tamil Nadu, India, he earned the title of Grandmaster in 2015 at the age of 15, marking his arrival on the world stage.

Aravindh has won the Indian Chess Championship twice and has delivered strong performances in international open and invitational events. His dynamic, tactical approach and resilient play have brought him success against elite opposition and helped him establish himself among the world’s top players.

The 2026 Tata Steel Chess Tournament marks Aravindh Chithambaram’s appearance in the Masters group. Competing in Wijk aan Zee, he brings depth and unpredictability to the field in one of chess’s most prestigious events.
