Biography
Anish Giri is a Dutch grandmaster and one of the most established players on the international chess circuit. Born on 28 June 1994, he has been a mainstay of the world elite for over a decade.
A multiple-time Dutch champion, regular world top-10 player and FIDE Grand Swiss winner, Giri is known for his deep opening preparation, consistency and extensive experience at the highest level.
In 2023 he won his first Tata Steel Masters title. In 2026, Anish Giri returns to Wijk aan Zee to compete once again in the Tata Steel Masters on home soil.
