Biography
Anish Giri earned the Grandmaster title in 2009 at the age of 14 years, 7 months and 2 days. 
Giri has competed in many editions of the Tata Steel Chess Tournament in Wijk aan Zee, winning the Tata Steel Masters in 2023. 
Outside Wijk aan Zee, Giri has been a leading figure in international chess for more than a decade. He is a multiple Dutch Champion, has represented the Netherlands in numerous Chess Olympiads, and has taken part in multiple Candidates Tournaments. 
Giri has reached a peak FIDE classical rating of 2798 and has been ranked among the world’s highest-rated players. 
At the Tata Steel Chess Tournament 2026, he returns to the Masters group in Wijk aan Zee to get his second title.
