Thai Dai Van Nguyen is a Czech grandmaster who has steadily established himself among the world’s top players. Born on 12 December 2001 in Prague, he has been a leading figure in Czech chess for several years and a consistent performer on the international circuit.
Nguyen earned his place in the Tata Steel Masters by winning the 2025 Tata Steel Challengers, a breakthrough achievement that marked a major milestone in his career. Known for his solid positional understanding and calm approach at the board, he has competed successfully in elite tournaments and represented the Czech Republic at major international events.
