Biography
Fabiano Caruana one of the world’s top players. A chess prodigy, he became the youngest Grandmaster in U.S. and Italian history at 14 years and 11 months. Known for his deep opening preparation and strategic precision, Caruana reached a peak FIDE rating of 2844, the third-highest in history. In 2018, he challenged Magnus Carlsen for the World Chess Championship, narrowly losing in the tiebreak. Caruana’s illustrious career also includes winning the 2020 Tata Steel Masters with a dominant performance. As of December 2024, with a FIDE rating of 2805, he remains the world’s second-ranked player and a leading figure in modern chess.
