Biography
Gukesh Dommaraju is an Indian grandmaster and one of the strongest players of the new generation. Born on 29 May 2006, he has achieved remarkable success at a young age and continues to establish himself among the world’s elite.
Gukesh has delivered outstanding performances in both individual and team competitions, winning an individual gold medal in the Olympiad and becoming the (current) World Chess Champion.
At the 2026 Tata Steel Chess Tournament, Gukesh returns to the Masters group in Wijk aan Zee.
